Meet the Trainer

Hank Cocking, Owner and Head Trainer, is a currently a Sergeant with one of Kansas’s largest law enforcement agencies.  He is also a canine handler of a dual purpose canine who is proficient in drugs and patrol work for one of the largest sheriff’s departments in the State of Kansas.  Hank supervises a criminal interdiction team and two additional canine teams.

1980-01-01 00.06.22Hank became a canine handler in 2002 and an instructor in 2004. He has conducted and assisted with several basic training classes for different agencies across the State of Kansas.  He conducted a selection test and chose the canines that completed these classes. Hank has assisted with instruction and demonstration of his canine for the United States Police Canine Association National Seminar in Maryland.  He continues to instruct weekly maintenance training for his current agency and different agencies across the state, working on scenario based training and high risk deployments.  Hank has conducted several hundred felony deployments with a police canine by utilizing them for tracking, area searches and building searches which resulted in over 200 felony apprehensions
